This activity was from an amazing book called Art with Anything by Mary Ann Kohl.
Every mama should own this book....Seriously....Go buy it!
Now that we got that out of the way, here is how we made baked cotton balls!
All you need is a cup of flour and a cup of water. Mix them together in a large bowl. Then divide the mixture into several small bowls and add some food coloring!
Next, line a cookie sheet with foil and have your little dunk the cotton balls one by one into the mixture and place them onto the cookie sheet.
She asked for a spoon to help her get the cotton balls completely covered in the mixture. Good idea.
Once you have all of your cotton balls on your cookie sheet, bake them at 300 for about 45 minutes.
I let them bake while Biscuit was napping. When she woke up she was so excited to see how they looked and how different they felt!
"They are not soft now Mommy....I can't squish them anymore."
We made shapes...
Then Biscuit decided to crack them open, she said that they looked like dinosaur eggs.
"My eggs need to hatch Mommy!"
Next she went to get her hammer...
This kept her busy for quite some time! Luckily for me it was an easy clean up. ;)
Happy Playing & Exploring!!
I've seen these done but still haven't tried them yet. I need to! Just wanted to say that I ordered the book. Anything that gets your recommendation sounds fun to me. :) My husband will be thrilled that I bought like ten other things while browsing Amazon-ha!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I know it! I can never escape Amazon buying JUST one thing!! It's terrible. Amazon and Target seriously need a rehab program for mommies. :)
